🔍 What we're looking for

Smartex is growing FAST — and we are growing our team to build awesome products that shake up the textile industry.

We are looking for an accountable, passionate & energetic person with hands-on mindset to join our Machine Learning department.

The activities will be performed in Porto and involving operations all over the World, leading with a diverse group of people for a plethora of new topics every day.

• Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, including data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering.
• Assist in the design and execution of experiments to evaluate the performance of machine learning models and algorithms.
• Participate in the exploration and integration of new data sources to expand our understanding of the problem space.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and translate them into actionable projects.
• Develop and maintain documentation for all projects, including code, data, and model outputs.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed models to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research in machine learning and related fields to help inform our approach and identify potential areas for innovation.
• Help identify and prioritize areas for investment in machine learning, including new techniques, algorithms, and tooling.

🛠️ Skills & Experience

• Must have: Extreme willingness to learn, grow, try new ideas, fail & succeed. This project involves many broad tasks that could be performed to varying extent depending on the candidate's energy;
• Must have: Familiarity with Google Tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Mail, Calendar, etc);
• Must have: Fluent in English;
• Must have: Python knowledge;
• Nice to have: Familiarity with production lines;
